May 25, 2005: Net Reconnector 1.0 released

Features:

Net Reconnector is a Dashboard Widget can reconnect you to your default internet connection automatically when you are disconnected (even when Dashboard is in the background). It will also try to keep you from being disconnected by sending tiny amounts of data to your ISP every so often.
It can display (and copy to the clipboard) your IP address.
It starts with both of these options turned on by default and saves your preferences.

Questions & Answers:

Q: How do I copy my IP address to the clipboard?
A: Just click on it.

Q: Why is my IP address wrong?
A: Net Reconnector assumes that your default connection is ppp0. If this isn't the case for you, let me know I'll try to work with you to improve the situation.

Q: Why does Internet Connect open and close when I'm reconnecting?
A: Net Reconnector uses AppleScript to reconnect to the net. The best way I've found to do that requires opening Internet Connect and since I assume you don't normally leave Internet Connect open, I close it again when I'm done with it.

Q: Is your son the cutest baby in the world?
A: Yes. Thank you for asking.

Q: Why does Internet Connect open even when I connect to the net myself?
A: The only way I've found to check if you're already connecting is to open Internet Connect. See above.

Q: I want feature X, implement it now!
A: That's not a question but... Maybe, if it interests me or you are willing to pay me for it.

Q: I found a bug, what do I do?
A: Email me at the address below.
